R.I.L.: Legendary Gospel Great Andrae Crouch Dies From A Heart Attack!

Heaven may have just gained one of the greatest composers of all time...

It's with a heavy heart and great sadness to report that Gospel musician, Andrae Crouch, has passed away after suffering a heart attack.

The 72-year-old had been hospitalized since Saturday at Northridge Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles before succumbing to the effects of the attack on Thursday afternoon.

Known for his ability to bridge the gap between gospel and mainstream music, Crouch helped produce and write songs for some of the biggest artists and movies of our time including, Michael Jackson's 'Man In The Mirror',  Madonna's 'Like A Prayer,' and the famous 'God Is Trying To Tell You Something' from the blockbuster movie, 'The Color Purple.'

Throughout the years of his life, Andrae endured many physical hardships overcoming multiple bouts of cancer, suffering from diabetes, and in December combatting pneumonia.

Andrae served alongside his siblings as pastor at the New Christ Memorial Church in San Fernando, California.

This is such sad news. He was definitely an inspiration to so many. Prayers and condolences for his family and loved ones.
