Actress and director Angela Bassett is taking the youngin's to beauty school, and the topic of discussion for today is how to slay the game at 55!
In a feature for Violet Magazine's latest issue Ms. Angie's bringing sexy back (well, it never left in her case) modeling a satin robe, black bustier, sheer pantyhose and leopard heels, all while dishing out a few words of wisdom to those aspiring to make it in the entertainment industry.
Check out a few of the highlights below.
Advice on overcoming adversity in Hollywood: "You stick out your chest, and gather your strength. I was raised by my mother, and she taught me how! You can't be in this industry if you're afraid of a little rejection."
How she became a successful artist: "You have to study your craft. Actresses make it look easy because that's the way it should look; effortless. When a great actor does their job they're leaving a piece of their soul in the room. It takes a little out of you, but that's okay. Life will take a little out of you. We're talking about demonstrating the best and worst of the human experience."
How she views herself: "A passionate woman who knows what she loves and has been blessed to be able to do, and continue to do it!"
I don't know if it's good genes, working out and drinking water, or just a plain ole' example of how black don't crack. But what EVER it is...I'ma need 2 cups full please.
