Music Icon Madonna To Son: "You My N-gga!" Causes Racial Debate
What's good my n-ggas?! How's life?!...
Apparently very well, and very "hip" when it comes to Icon Madonna's well-being and use of verbiage.
Recently the pop icon ruffled a lot feathers after posting a picture of her son Rocco boxing on Instagram; but the caption alongside the pic is what had some people up in arms.
"Nobody messes with Dirty Soap! Momma said knock you out! #DisN-gga"
And then, the floodgates opened...
Some agreed the singer's use of the word was harmless and fun, and even took the liberty of joining in by posting pics with the hashtag #DisN-gga.
Others...not so much. Many commenters were outraged over Madonna's use of the N-word and associated the singer with being ignorantly racist.
One fan wrote, "Not smart MADGE. Some of us remember where you came from. You are just a glorified girl from the street. Go back to CBGB in NYC and perform "Everybody"...SERIOUSLY!!??!!"
When Madonna caught wind of all the feedback from her post, the 'Material Girl' retracted her statement and reposted this caption, "Ok let me start this again. #get off of my d@ck haters!"
After this was posted, the singer had a woo-sah moment, and added the below picture to her Instagram.
Sounds like too much going on for somebody who is 55-years-old.
Anyhow A-Listers, what do you think? With the hip hop culture embracing the use of the N-word, and kids of today (no matter what race) clinging on to every word in the hip hop language, does this count as an excuse for it to be used?
Or should we all just try putting the word with the people who made it's original connotation in the first place; the grave. Things that make you go hmm.
